Indices off day's high; Sensex zooms 850 pts; PSBs rally

Indian equity markets shot up over 2 per cent each on Monday, in line with their Asian peers, after the government eased curbs on most economic activities even as the lockdown in containment zones was extended till June 30. The S&P BSE Sensex zoomed 860 points, or 2.65 per cent, to 33,280, and the Nifty50 index hovered around 9,820 levels. Axis Bank and Tata Steel (both up 6%) were the top Sensex gainers. Besides, Bajaj Finance and IndusInd Bank also rose 4 per cent each. All the Nifty sectoral indices were in the green, led by Nifty PSU Bank index, up 4 per cent.
