Indices trade flat, Nifty below 11,950

Benchmark indices were trading flat on Tuesday, with tech stocks under pressure as the Rupee opened at a one-month high level against the US dollar. The S&P BSE Sensex was down 34 points, or 0.08 per cent, at 40,450 levels. YES Bank (down 3%), TCS, Tech Mahindra (both down 1%) were the top laggards in the Sensex pack. Conversely, Sun Pharma (up 1%) was the top gainer. The broader Nifty50 index was trading 11,930 levels, down 10 points. The Nifty sectoral indices were trading mixed. Nifty Pharma index gained the most 0.3 per cent while Nifty IT, down 0.7 per cent, bled the most. In the broader market, the S&P BSE MidCap index was trading 7 points higher at 14,690 levels. The S&P BSE SmallCap index was up 8 points at 13,290 levels.
